About KLPI

Kansas Legal Professionals, Inc. (KLPI) was created in May of 1996 and provides membership in a professional association for all persons in the legal field throughout the state of Kansas. Not only will individual members benefit from belonging to a professional association, but their employers will also discover the advantages. KLPI consists of two (2) chapters covering numerous counties throughout the state.Kansas Legal Professionals, Inc.  (“KLPI”) was created in May of 1996 and provides membership in a professional association for all persons in the legal field throughout the state of Kansas.  Not only will individual members benefit from belonging to a professional association, but their employers will also discover the advantages.  KLPI consists of two (2) chapters covering numerous counties throughout the state.

KLPI is comprised of members of local chapters, members-at-large, retired members, and honorary members. Membership is open to persons engaged as a legal secretary, legal assistant, law office administrator, stenographer, typist, receptionist, or clerk in any law office; any person employed in the court system, the trust departments of banks or trust companies, abstracters and title companies, or in any public or private institution or office engaged in work of a legal nature, including the public office of the United States government, states, counties, cities, or municipalities; those persons licensed to practice law; and those persons who have belonged to another legal association.

Currently, yearly membership dues for KLPI are $37. (The dues proration schedule is $37 from May to September; $22 from October to December; and $12 from January to April). In addition, each chapter has a set amount of yearly membership dues.

Membership in a local chapter offers many advantages: monthly meetings with programs of particular interest and educational value; advice and counsel of others in specified areas of legal procedure; development of friendships with those sharing similar interests and goals in the legal field; and an organization which can provide assistance to its local community in many different ways.

There are currently 2 local chapters: Topeka Legal Professionals and Wichita Legal Professionals.

  • To cooperate with and assist attorneys, judges, bar associations, and their affiliates.
  • To establish networking among its members.
  • To unite legal professionals into a state association.
  • To assist local chapters in retaining and increasing membership.

Members-at-Large

Where no local chapter exists, application may be made for member-at-large membership. A member-at-large chapter may also be formed. KLPI has members-at-large throughout the state, and these members enjoy all benefits that KLPI has to offer.
